At Key Bridge Liquors, we’re more than just a liquor store—we’re your local destination for exploring the wide world of spirits. From timeless classics to local Maryland craft distilleries, our shelves are stocked with everything you need to sip, mix, and celebrate. Understanding the different types of liquor will help you choose the perfect bottle, whether you’re making cocktails, entertaining guests, or enjoying a quiet nightcap.

Whiskey

Whiskey is a spirit distilled from grains such as barley, corn, rye, or wheat, and aged in wooden barrels to develop its signature flavor. Styles include Bourbon (known for its sweetness and vanilla notes), Rye (spicy and bold), Scotch (smoky and floral), and Irish Whiskey (smooth and approachable). With such variety, whiskey can be enjoyed neat, on the rocks, or in cocktails like old fashioned and Manhattans.

Some of the whiskeys we have in stock:

Vodka

Vodka is one of the cleanest and most versatile spirits, traditionally distilled from grains or potatoes, though some are made from grapes or corn. Its neutral flavor makes it the foundation of countless cocktails, from martinis and Bloody Marys to Moscow mules. Premium vodkas focus on smoothness and purity, while flavored vodkas offer exciting twists with fruit, vanilla, or spice infusions.

Some of the vodkas we have in stock:

Rum

Rum is distilled from sugarcane or molasses, giving it natural sweetness and a tropical character. Light rums are crisp and ideal for mojitos or daiquiris, while dark and aged rums develop rich notes of caramel, spice, and vanilla. Spiced rums, infused with cinnamon, clove, and nutmeg, bring extra warmth and are perfect for mixing with cola or sipping on chilly nights.

Some of the rums we have in stock:

Tequila

Tequila is made exclusively from the blue agave plant in specific regions of Mexico, primarily Jalisco. Styles include blanco (unaged and crisp), reposado (rested in oak barrels for 2–12 months), and añejo (aged for at least a year, offering deep complexity). Its bold, earthy flavor makes it essential for margaritas and palomas, but high-quality tequila is just as enjoyable sipped neat.

Some of the tequilas we have in stock:

Gin

Gin is defined by its botanical character, with juniper as the star ingredient. Distillers layer flavors of citrus peel, herbs, spices, and flowers, creating distinctively aromatic spirits. London Dry gin is crisp and juniper-forward, while contemporary gins often highlight unique botanicals like lavender, cucumber, or lemongrass. Gin shines in cocktails such as the gin & tonic, Negroni, and martini.

Some of the gins we have in stock:

Brandy

Brandy is a fruit-based spirit, traditionally distilled from grapes, but also crafted from apples, cherries, and other fruits. Its rich, warming flavors of caramel, vanilla, and dried fruit make it a favorite after-dinner drink. Cognac and Armagnac are French brandies with strict production standards, while American brandies offer a more approachable entry point. Brandy is also a key ingredient in classic cocktails like the Sidecar and Brandy Alexander.

Some of the brandys we have in stock:

Liqueurs

Liqueurs are sweetened spirits infused with herbs, fruit, coffee, cream, or spices, offering endless flavors and styles. They are often enjoyed on their own, poured over ice, or used to add depth to cocktails. From Irish cream and orange liqueur to coffee and herbal apertifs, liqueurs provide versatility for creative cocktails and after-dinner sipping.
